SOMETIMES IT TAKES A FRESH SET OF EYES
Every golf course has opportunities hiding in plain sight. Sometimes it’s the culture. Sometimes it’s the customer experience. Sometimes it’s an underused range, restaurant, clubhouse, technology—or simply an idea that hasn’t been fully developed.
I’ve spent my career seeing the golf business from nearly every angle—as a PGA Professional, golf course owner and operator, and President of the PGA of America.
But titles don’t make a golf course successful. People do.
That’s why I created YourCourse: to listen, observe, challenge conventional thinking and help you uncover possibilities that may already be right in front of you.
No cookie-cutter consulting plan. We start with your course.
YOUR PEOPLE
Culture • Leadership • Teamwork • Standards • Camaraderie
Great operations start with people. Build a team that takes pride in the course, in each other and in creating an experience customers want to come back to.
WHAT COULD BE BETTER AT YOUR COURSE?
YOUR CUSTOMER
Experience • Engagement • Entertainment • Loyalty
Today’s golf customer may discover your facility in ways that have little to do with playing 18 holes. Every one of those customers is an opportunity. Don’t just ask how to get them through the door. Ask what will make them come back.
YOUR OPPORTUNITY
Attract • Engage • Connect • Retain
Your range, restaurant, instruction, technology, putting green, events, leagues and golf course shouldn’t operate as separate businesses. Connect them, and one opportunity can create another.
STOP THINKING ONLY ABOUT ROUNDS OF GOLF.
START THINKING ABOUT LIFETIME CUSTOMERS.
A golf course is more than a place to play 18 holes. I’ve always believed it is 85 acres of potential fun.
Today, a customer may discover your facility through a Toptracer bay, dinner with friends, a family event, a putting green, a lesson or simply looking for something fun to do.
That first experience is only the beginning.
At Augusta Ranch, Toptracer taught us an important lesson: the technology wasn’t the strategy. What we built around it was.
When the pieces of your operation work together, one opportunity can create another.
ATTRACT → EXPERIENCE → ENGAGE → CONNECT → RETURN → BELONG
The objective isn’t another transaction.
The objective is another relationship.

THE AUGUSTA RANCH STORY
Augusta Ranch didn’t simply add Toptracer to the driving range. We built an experience around it—and discovered that one opportunity could create growth throughout the entire business.

Toptracer became much more than a range amenity. It became a funnel for the entire business—bringing families, groups, beginners and entertainment customers to Augusta Ranch and introducing them to food and beverage, putting, instruction, events and the golf course itself.
As demand grew, we built Buckets adjacent to Toptracer and added a new 20,000-square-foot putting green to give customers another experience while waiting for a bay. On busy nights, those waits can approach an hour.
Technology wasn’t the strategy. The customer journey was.
Results shown are Augusta Ranch’s experience and are not a guarantee of results at other facilities.
The YourCourse Visit
I’M NOT COMING TO TELL YOU HOW TO RUN YOUR GOLF COURSE. I’m coming to help you see it differently.
The YourCourse Visit starts with a conversation. I spend time with ownership, leadership and your team. I walk the property, experience the facility through the eyes of your customer, talk with your people and look for opportunities that may be hiding in plain sight.

“No 100-page report. No canned presentation. Just honest conversations, experienced eyes and practical ideas you can use.”
“We were already looking forward to the opening of our new Toptracer Range, but after Don’s visit, my entire staff and I are extremely excited. Don brought a passion and energy that energized our team, along with ideas we can actually use—ways to improve our operations, market our launch, and create new revenue opportunities down the road.”
DON’T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.
— Curt Hudek, pga, golf course owner
Fresh eyes. Honest conversations. New ideas.
A LIFETIME IN GOLF. A COMMITMENT TO ITS FUTURE.
Golf has given me far more than a career. It has given me relationships, opportunities and a lifetime of lessons about people and the business of the game.
I’ve experienced this business from the cart barn to the boardroom—as a PGA Professional, golf course owner and operator, and ultimately as the 44th President of the PGA of America.
But through all of it, one belief has never changed:
THE PEOPLE ARE THE GAME.
I believe in the golf course owner willing to take a chance. I believe in the PGA Professional trying to make a difference. And I believe in the employee who can change a customer’s entire experience with one great interaction.
I’ve had successes. I’ve also made mistakes. I’m willing to share both, because sometimes knowing what not to do is just as valuable as knowing what works.
If I visit your course, I’ll ask. I’ll listen. I’ll learn. I’ll tell you what I see. And I’ll give you my best.
My goal isn’t to make your course more like mine.
IT’S TO HELP YOU DISCOVER HOW GOOD YOUR COURSE CAN BECOME.

LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR COURSE.
Your course is more than a golf course. It’s a workplace. A gathering place. An entertainment venue. A restaurant. A classroom. A community. And yes, it’s a business.
WHAT COULD YOUR COURSE BECOME?
You don’t need to know exactly what you’re looking for. Tell me what’s working. Tell me what’s frustrating you. Tell me about the idea you haven’t been able to get off the ground.
Let’s start there.
